Waynebert is free to download and use. If you run it fully locally or with your own API key, there's nothing to pay us — ever.
The optional Waynebert account is for people who'd rather not set up their own models or API keys, or use their own computer's resources. You top up a credit balance, and Waynebert handles the remote processing for you. That's the only paid part of Waynebert.
The hosted account can run all three stages of Waynebert for you: speech-to-text (hearing you), the language model (deciding what to say), and text-to-speech (saying it out loud). You can route all three through the Waynebert proxy, or pick and choose — for example, run text-to-speech locally while the language model runs on your account. You're only charged for the stages you actually route through the account.
Your balance is held in US dollars, the same way services like OpenRouter work — so there are no points or tokens to translate in your head. You top up in $5 increments, and that amount is added straight to your balance.
As you use the hosted service, your balance is drawn down based on how much you use — how much speech Waynebert transcribes and speaks, and how much work the language model does. The exact rate can vary depending on which models handle a request, so the live balance in your online account is always the accurate figure to watch, and you're never charged beyond the balance you've topped up.
Payment is shown in your local currency at checkout, where any sales tax or VAT is calculated and included. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay.
Waynebert is built around small, efficient models, so a balance tends to stretch a long way. Because you only pay for what you use — and only for the stages you route through the account — a $5 top-up can cover a lot of play. Exactly how much depends on how you use it: how often Waynebert speaks up, how long your sessions run, which stages you route through the account, and your settings. Treat any figure here as an illustration rather than a guarantee.
You can check your balance and top up again any time from your account on our website.
Payments are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record, who takes care of processing, invoicing, and tax. Unused balance is refundable within 30 days under our Refund Policy; credit you've already used isn't refundable, since the service has been delivered.
No. Your balance stays in your account until you use it — there's no expiry date and no "use it or lose it".
